Common Snapping Turtle

A large common snapping turtle resting on a rocky, muddy riverbank beside shallow water. Its dark, ridged shell appears wet and textured, and its thick neck extends forward. Small stones, pebbles, and bits of vegetation surround the turtle, creating a natural riverbank setting.

Snapping Turtle resting at the edge of the water. These turtles always look like they’re carrying a few million years of history on their backs — rugged, ancient, and perfectly adapted to the Chattahoochee River corridor.
